Sport and physical activity should be an integral part of everyone's life. Recently there has been a lot of talk about the need to activate the society, because movement is important for the health of the whole organism. Where to start? Doing sports competitively, but not only, you need to take care of the right clothing. How to choose the right outfit?
One key consideration is the material of the clothes you plan to exercise in. There are really many variants available in the stores - from natural materials, such as linen or cotton, to polyester or polypropylene. Each of them has different properties, which in one sport will work superbly, while in another not necessarily. Often you can also find different sportswear, combining different materials in different proportions.
Polyester is a lightweight fabric. Its advantage is that it does not soak up water as easily as cotton, which eliminates the unpleasant, cool feeling of dampness. It is also relatively inexpensive compared to other solutions.
Polypropylene, on the other hand, is a synthetic material that drains water very well. It does not absorb sweat thanks to the fact that in the material there are special capillary channels and often silver ions. Due to its functional features it is perfect for, among others, production of thermoactive underwear.
Natural materials, including the much-lauded cotton, do not necessarily work well for sportswear. Although it is pleasant to the touch, it absorbs water (sweat) and takes a relatively long time to dry. This causes the athlete's body to cool down. Therefore you should not necessarily look for pure cotton, a better solution will be a mixture of materials, such as cotton with an addition of polyester. Clothing manufacturers use materials in order to improve the properties of a given material, thus adjusting its properties to the needs of the chosen sport.
